#BecomingDrTJack

I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Language, Literacy and Culture program at the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) researching contemporary Black student activism.

After collecting literature on Black women activists from 1895 to 2018, my research explores the narratives of undergraduate Black women (UBW) student activists during 2014-2016, the brink of #BlackLivesMatter.

I am currently dissertating as I have completed interviewing and collecting data on Black women, who were enrolled in college anytime between 2014 and 2016, and led a campus protest or movement addressing racial inequality.
